Tonight is the beginning of Supanova Adelaide for their 3rd year at the Wayville Showgrounds. What can we expect this year? Let’s have a look!

For the retro fans, there can be no bigger treat than being able to meet the voice of Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen. Cullen voiced Prime throughout the 80s TV series & returned for the Michael Bay movie series. In recent years he has also performed the voice of Prime in the Transformers video games, as well as Eeyore in “Piglet’s Big Game” for the PS2 & Gamecube. Peter is voice acting royalty & this is a rare chance to get those games & DVDs signed!!

You too can bring your Gizmo plushie & get a picture with Billy from the Gremlins movies, who will also be in attendance! Maybe you own one of the Gremlins video games. Why not get him to sign them for you? While he wasn’t directly involved in them that’s never stopped me before :)

For the child of the 90s, nothing would give you a nostalgia fix faster than meeting two of the original Power Rangers. Well, Jason the Red Ranger & Zack the Black Ranger will both be at Supanova! You saw them on TV, you played as them on the Super NES, Megadrive & other systems, now you can meet them, get a picture with them & get them to leave their scribble on those classic videogames.

Maybe you’re a fan of the Lego games. I know I am!!! Greg Cipes who has provided voices for characters in Lego Marvel Super Heroes will be at the event! As well as that, he has also provided voices for “MySims” on the Wii, & was Atlas in the 2003 revival of Astroboy.

Bryce Papenbrook has a list of video game credits a mile long!! He was in Saints Row 3 & 4, Shin Megami Tensei IV (I just got that the other day on 3DS), Fire Emblem Awakening, Bravely Default & many others!! It’s well worth doing your research on this one, as he has also worked on a lot of differnet anime series. So get those video game & DVD/Bluray sleeves ready to be signed!

These Adelaide & Brisbane shows should be huge, so come along & be a part of the Supanova experience!!

The Supanova Expo was established in 2002 in Sydney as a completely home-grown Australian production showcasing sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, animé, manga, games and much more. Run by a diverse and passionate team of independent professionals with backgrounds in private industry and the creative sector, Supanova has expanded to six cities (the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane) to become Australia’s premier event of its kind, with over 160,000 fans attending in 2013.

International pop-culture celebrities come to Supanova to meet fans, give behind-the-scenes talks, pose for portraits and sign autographs at the family-friendly expos. Both kids and adults can also enjoy movie previews and screenings, gaming demonstrations, competitions, spectacular AWF Wrestling, and the opportunity to shop for must-have pop-culture items including comics, collectibles, DVDs, figurines, accessories and clothing. Many fans enjoy getting into ‘CosPlay’ (costume roleplay), whether it’s to compete in the Madman National Cosplay Championships or simply to enjoy a fun day of dressing up and bringing their favourite characters to life.

The Supanova expos are a celebration of pop culture created by the Supanova family for your family, and for fans of all ages.
