Oz Comic Con 2016 was a great event, and it provided me with another opportunity to have a chat with a Funimation voice actor. Sonny Strait was employed by Funimation way back when they started dubbing Dragonball Z in house. His voice can be heard in many various anime, including the long running One Piece.

I had a chance to sit with Sonny when his autograph line had died down for a while. We headed behind the autograph tables and I conducted the interview while sitting on crates. That’s right, Sonny Strait was sitting on a crate! Say that 5 times quickly!

In this interview we discuss Krillin, taking over from the original Canadian dub cast, Dragonball Super, and voice acting in anime vs voice acting in video games. Part way through the Oz Comic Con announcer can be heard clearly which interferes with one of the answers, but there wasn’t much we could do about that.

Thanks to the great people at Oz Comic Con for allowing me to sit down with Sonny and have a chat.
