Heard of the film called ‘No Country for Old Men’? Brilliant piece of cinema…
Here we have an artwork entitled, ‘No Country for Old Kongs’ (sound familiar?) by Deviant Art user MattMcManis. This action shot really captures Donkey Jr and Diddy in their more common moods. Next up could be ‘Grumpy Old Kong’? :D
It is great to see that Nintendo is sticking to the same trend of keeping old-school levels and other paraphernalia in their video games. Mario Kart Wii had it, and now Mario Kart 7 (which is coming soon to the 3DS) does as well. The next title in the highly successful series will include 16 new tracks, and 16 classic tracks. Not much information is currently available on what the classic levels will be, but judging by the trailer above, it’s looking like Luigi’s Mansion from Mario Kart DS, and Koopa Beach from Mario Kart 64 appeared.
Nintendolife have scored a screenshot of what looks like a Battle Mode arena from Super Mario Kart on the SNES as well. Mario Kart 7 will be available worldwide in December.
You COULD celebrate Sonic’s 20th Anniversary by playing the older titles…or you could take it to the next level and score yourself a copy of the soundtrack to the Sonic games as well! Play-Asia have the soundtrack of Sonic The Hedgehog 1 & 2 from the Mega Drive, and if you’re a devout fan of the little blue hedgehog, then I’m sure there’s a copy with your name on it! ;)
Club Nintendo Japan yet again offers a sweet trinket to help you show your dedication to the worlds most famous Carpenter-turned-Plumber. This plush cushion of Mario in 8-bit is pretty sweet looking right? Well, don’t jump up and down just yet, as that cushion won’t be available till 2012. (That guy on the couch looks pretty stoked that he’s got one.)
And finally, here’s a fascinating looking website. titlescream.com displays stacks of video game title screens. Matthew from 1UP Microcinema in Perth found this little beauty, so thanks for that! :D
