Well, pinch and a punch, first day of the month, no returns, no touchbacks! I’ve got to say, that is one cool looking NES! I do wonder if it works (side ports are left untouched, so my guess is yes!) I wouldn’t use one for home, I’d use it more as a disco ball replacement personally :P

So it looks like it’s been a while since Nintendo released anything on the Wii Virtual Console. Fine, at least Kirby’s Dream Land came out on the 3DS eShop this week. Classic platform game also responsible for this monstrosity below;

It was also an excuse to post this video up again ;)

Where has this site been all my life? So Papercraftmuseum.com is well.. the one stop place for all geeky papercraft.. I have to admit however, this one has to be the most detailed sculpture I’ve ever seen. The one on the left you dinguses :) Link! Yes!

The time and effort put in to this sculpture really shows. Bravo to the artist!

Ever played any of them James Pond games? I hummed to the robocod theme tune whenever I hired James Pond 2 for the SNES back in the day.. Well guess what, there’s a NEW James Pond game on the iOS. Is it any good? First impressions I’ll give here.. no. Okay yes, it looks great, very colourful, and the sounds and music are what you’d expect in a game like this, however the controls are annoying, very confusing. You get stuck in certain parts of the map and you have a hard time getting out. I guess if there are any die-hard James Pond fans out there? Then be my guest. Even though it only costs AU$1.20, there are more enticing retro games on the App Store.. (App Store Link)

And finally, this week on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network, we see the release of a reboot of Galaga, not like the one on iOS from the other day, this one definitely bams the 8-bit up a notch, and what is a reboot without thumpin techno beats? Yeah as you see in the video above, Galaga Legions DX does not look like one to disappoint any Galaxian or Galaga fans. You’ll get the rough idea if you’ve played Pac-Man Championship DX (which I should add, is loads of fun!). Hoardes of enemies come at you, and you must skillfully defeat them in each wave/level.
